Driving Test Routes – PassPal helps learners become familiar with the roads around a chosen test centre. This living release history covers meaningful changes that affect learners, rather than listing internal maintenance and store-submission work.
Version 1.22: simpler purchase access
Version 1.22 moved subscriptions and lifetime purchases to RevenueCat. The change gives the app one clearer source of truth for purchase status and makes restoring access across supported devices more reliable. Native rating and review actions were also added after this release.
Version 1.21: Driving Test Routes joined PassPal
The app adopted the PassPal name, icon and visual identity in version 1.21. Its purpose stayed focused: helping learners explore test-centre roads, practise routes and record their preparation for test day.
Versions 1.19–1.20: lifetime access and 3D Drive
A lifetime purchase option arrived in version 1.19, alongside permanent test-centre assignments. The following release introduced native 3D Drive at supported UK centres, with steering and chase-camera improvements added soon afterwards.

Versions 1.12–1.13: support and feedback
Learners gained live support from Settings and an in-app review flow. These releases made it easier to ask for help without leaving the app and to share feedback through the device's native store experience.
Versions 1.10–1.11: Australia and New Zealand
Driving Test Routes expanded beyond the UK with country detection, a manual region picker and test-centre data for Australia and New Zealand. Routes without a compatible Google Maps link gained in-app Mapbox navigation, while UK-only learning material stayed limited to UK users.
Version 1.9: GPS practice tracking
A dedicated Track tab added live GPS recording, practice history and synchronised distance and duration summaries. The same tracking foundation can record the route driven during a test attempt when the learner chooses to use it.
Versions 1.7–1.8: a more native app experience
Version 1.7 introduced native tabs on supported iOS devices, including platform symbols and the system glass treatment. Version 1.8 refreshed the upgrade experience so plan choices and included access were easier to understand.
Versions 1.5–1.6: exam-route records and location clarity
Version 1.5 added optional exam-route recording with a post-drive map, time and distance summary. Version 1.6 introduced a clearer location disclosure before tracking begins, explaining why background location is requested and when it is used.
Versions 1.3–1.4: exam countdown and faster route data
The Home tab gained an exam-date card, countdown, reminders and a result check-in. Route and test-centre content later moved to a dedicated content service, reducing the amount bundled into the app and making route updates easier to deliver.

- Does every test centre support 3D Drive?
- No. 3D Drive is available only at supported UK test centres. The app shows the feature where compatible route data is available.
- Can I record my own driving practice?
- Yes. The Track tab can record an optional GPS practice session and save its route, distance and duration to your practice history.
- Does PassPal publish official DVSA test routes?
- No. The routes are intended for local road familiarisation and driving practice. They are not official DVSA test routes and cannot predict the route an examiner will choose.
