Who is responsible for your data
Orango Labs Ltd is the developer and data controller. You can contact us at support@passpal.uk or at 111 New Union Street, Coventry, CV1 2NT, United Kingdom.
Neither app requires a named account. Where a stable identifier is needed, we use an app-generated random ID that is not designed to identify you directly.

Location and route recordings
Driving Test Route - PassPal asks for foreground location to show nearby centres. It asks separately for background location only when you choose to record a practice or exam drive. You can deny or revoke either permission in your device settings.
Recorded practice sessions and exam-route statistics can be sent over HTTPS to our Cloudflare Worker and D1 database, keyed by the random device ID. We do not use location for advertising and do not sell location data.
Purchases and subscriptions
Apple and Google process payments. We do not receive your full card details. We receive transaction identifiers, product, platform, status and expiry information needed to validate and restore access. Driving Test Route - PassPal stores entitlement records in Cloudflare D1; Driving Theory test - PassPal primarily relies on the store and a local entitlement cache.
Analytics, diagnostics and support
Driving Test Route - PassPal uses Firebase Analytics for app usage measurement and Sentry for crash diagnostics. These services may receive device type, OS version, app version, screens or features used, and technical fault information. Analytics must never contain your recorded GPS path.
Both apps may open a Tidio support widget. If you use it, Tidio processes the random support ID, message content and technical connection data needed to operate the chat. Do not send sensitive personal information through support.
Legal reasons for processing
- Contract: provide app features, validate purchases and answer support requests.
- Consent: access foreground or background location when you grant permission.
- Legitimate interests: keep the services secure, understand feature performance and diagnose crashes, balanced against user privacy.
- Legal obligation: keep records where tax, accounting, fraud-prevention or legal rules require it.
Who processes data for us
Depending on the product and feature, our processors include Cloudflare (API and D1 hosting), Google (Firebase and Play), Apple (App Store and StoreKit), Sentry (error monitoring), Tidio (live support), and the provider hosting passpal.uk. They process data under their own terms and our service arrangements. Data may be processed outside the UK with appropriate contractual or legal safeguards.
We do not sell your personal data.
Retention and deletion
- Theory progress and settings remain on your device until you clear them or uninstall the app.
- Server-backed route practice and exam records remain until you ask us to delete them or the service no longer needs them.
- Purchase records are retained while needed to provide or restore access and for legal, fraud or transaction-dispute requirements.
- Support messages and technical logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for support, security and legal obligations.
To request deletion of server-held data, email support@passpal.uk. Include which app you use. We may ask for the anonymous device or purchase identifier shown in the app so we can locate the correct record without asking for unnecessary identity documents.
Your rights
UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, port or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise a right. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children and changes
The services are intended for learner drivers and are not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as the apps or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
